DetailsA 45,000 s.f. complex on a four acre site, St. Joseph Church is a contemporary Byzantine design with a large centre dome surrounded by six smaller domes. The Nave seats 370 in circular mahogany pews and maintains the intimate feel of the parish’s original church. Eventually, the white walls of the Nave will be painted with traditional iconography and the Sanctuary will be screened from the Nave with a contemporary design Iconostas. The floor-to-ceiling sawed tooth windows bring natural light at different times of day with one side bringing visibility from the street and the other side overlooking a large roof courtyard, which is accessible from the Heritage Centre. The attached Heritage Community Centre provides several meeting rooms, a café/lounge and a large banquet facility with a fully equipped kitchen.

Below the courtyard, the lower level has a day care centre for 80 children in four classrooms and a secure walk-out play area.

There are several outdoor areas for the parish’s use, ranging in size and purpose.
A large piazza open space in front of the main entrance of the church is for casual congregating activity after Liturgy. The courtyard is used for organized assemblies associated with the Heritage Centre. The 400 seat banquet hall also has access to an outdoor patio. The fourth outdoor space is a landscaped parkette for parish outdoor recreational uses.
